A hallmark of Tahitian culture is the link between vegetation and daily life. Flora has not only become incorporated into rituals and ceremonies, but is also used for cooking, clothing, and personal care. For the proposed architectural project on the French Polynesian island of Mo’orea, a portable device, The Adaptive Press, was developed as a means of not only establishing a link between program, site, but also local tradition.
